A couple of this years’ calves started wondering over to our house from the farm next door. I guess our grass tasted better!

Saguaro National Park

On the fourth day of our trip to Tucson, we visited Saguaro National Park which is right next to the Old Tucson Studios. “Saguaro National Park is an American national park in Pima County, southeastern Arizona. The 92,000-acre (37,000 ha) park consists of two separate areas—the Tucson Mountain District (TMD) about 10 miles (16 km) west of the city of Tucson and the Rincon Mountain District (RMD) about 10 miles (16 km) east of the city—that preserve Sonoran Desert landscapes, fauna, and flora, including the giant saguaro cactus.”, Wikipedia

Old Tucson Studios

On the fourth day of our trip to Tucson, we visited Old Tucson Studios. An old movie studio where many of the old westerns were filmed. “Old Tucson was originally built in 1939 by Columbia Pictures on a Pima County-owned site as a replica of 1860s’ era Tucson for the movie Arizona (1940), starring William Holden and Jean Arthur. Workers built more than 50 buildings in 40 days. Many of those structures are still standing.”, Wikipedia

Casa Grande Ruins

On the third day of our trip to Tucson, we visited the Casa Grande Ruins near Phoenix. “The national monument consists of the ruins of multiple structures surrounded by a compound wall constructed by the ancient people of the Hohokam period, who farmed the Gila Valley in the early 13th century.”, Wikipedia

San Xavier Mission

On the second day of the Tucson trip, we visited the San Xavier Mission. “A National Historic Landmark, San Xavier Mission was founded as a Catholic mission by Father Eusebio Kino in 1692. Construction of the current church began in 1783 and was completed in 1797. “, Wikipedia

Sabino Canyon

On the second day of our trip to Tucson, we visited Sabino Canyon National Park. “Sabino Canyon is a significant canyon located in the Santa Catalina Mountains and the Coronado National Forest north of TucsonArizona, United States. Sabino Canyon is a popular recreation area for residents and visitors of Southern Arizona, providing a place to walk, hike or ride. Minutes away from the desert are large waterfalls along Sabino Creek with minor bridges constructed over them. Wildlife in the canyon includes a range of animals. White Sands National Park

On our annual road trip, Nathan and I drove to Tucson, Arizona. Along the way we stopped at White Sands National Park in Southern New Mexico.
