The Alamo
The Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, is a renowned historical landmark and a symbol of Texan independence. Originally built as a Spanish mission in 1718, it gained legendary status during the Texas Revolution in 1836. A small group of Texan defenders valiantly fought against a much larger Mexican army for 13 days, ultimately succumbing to overwhelming odds. Their courageous stand, though unsuccessful, became a rallying cry for Texan independence and solidified the Alamo’s place in history as a shrine of Texas liberty.
