Word got around that there were a couple of Limpkins hanging out at Busch Wildlife. It’s kind of a big deal since Limpkins, being a tropical wetlands bird, are not typically seen north of Florida. It was a great Labor Day morning.

A great egret that eventually got spooked by my presence.

Pretty perched great egret waiting for dinner.

Went out exploring and stopped by Portage des Sioux where the Our Lady of the Rivers statue is located right on the Mississippi River.

This egret was posing while enjoying the sunshine until finally I got too close!
